Cold Warms as Amarillo Forecasts Turn Mild

Weather observer H. C. Winburn reports Amarillo will see a gradual easing of the cold despite southerly winds at 20 to 25 mph. Morning readings showed 34 degrees with a 46 degree high expected today and 27 degree low tonight. Tomorrow’s high is projected at 55 as a Utah high pressure cell blocks a southward cold front from Pacific Northwest.

Robbery tied to Corpus Christi 14 year old brother trio

Ramon Rico a 14 year old was arrested in federal court for robbing the Corpus Christi National Bank on November 23 of nine thousand dollars. Police traced funds to the Rico home where relatives including Theodore Vasquez 24 and others aided the escape and alteration of the money. The family was jailed on bonds of two thousand dollars each with Helen Rico released on her own recognizance.

Plane lands itself after pilot faints midflight

Four people survive a pleasure flight in a four passenger Stinson Voyager when pilot James Degrood, 20, faints at 200 feet. Man Shot Believed Self-Inflicted Death Near City Limits

A man identified as James Cherry, 713 West Sixteenth, was found shot to death in a coupe on Plains Boulevard about a half mile west of Amarillo city limits. Justice of the Peace Charley Carder ruled death as self-inflicted, citing a farewell note to his wife. The sheriff held the note contents. a .38 revolver and a Model A Ford were found with the body.
