Commerce department reports November retail sales in 788 independent stores across Texas Oklahoma and New Mexico about 21 percent above November 1934 and 12 percent above October. Motor vehicle dealers show the largest gain 53 percent with lumber and building materials up 25 percent and meat and grocery stores up 13 percent.
