Cities Service 20 Inch Gas Line Expands Kansas City Area

The Cities Service company completed a 20 inch natural gas pipeline from Pampa Texas to Wichita Kansas at a cost of 15 million dollars. The line serves 135 cities in Kansas Missouri and Oklahoma with a peak capacity of 39 million cubic feet daily.

Annulment Decree Granted in Bateman Case

In civil district court yesterday a decree of annulment of marriage contract was granted in the suit of Nattie May June Corp. vs. W G Bateman. The plaintiff's maiden name was restored. Bateman was recently convicted of bigamy, given a two year sentence, and the annulment suit rested on this conviction.

Navy awards 1.5 million plane contract to Douglas

The Navy Department awards the contract for 25 PN-10 planes at a total cost of 1,553,506 dollars to the Douglas Aircraft Company of Santa Monica California. The action was announced in Washington on December 30.

Light Snow Boosts Potter County Crop Prospects

Light snowfall covered most of Potter county this morning boosting crop prospects though not everywhere. Amarillo saw under half an inch, a beneficial though light fall. northward sleet appeared and the snow line extended only a short distance south. Snow ended by 10 30 with sun and then more clouds threatened further flakes though the weather bureau said heavy snowfall was unlikely. Temperatures dipped to 22 degrees, nine degrees below yesterday.

The second severe blizzard of the season hit Kansas and Missouri as a cold front swept southward from the northwest. Temperatures plunged toward zero while a light snowfall accompanied the storm, disrupting travel and daily activities.

Lueders and committed to Lima Ohio hospital for the criminally insane despite being freed by a jury on grounds of insanity. Amarillo man aids in capture of two bank robbers

Walter Sikes of Amarillo helped track and arrest two Cisco bank robbers in Graham after a multi county chase. He traveled from Cisco with his wife to visit Mayor Williams and joined Deputy Sheriff Little City Marshal Davie and Deputy Williams in the capture at the Recesta area. The fugitives surrendered without resistance and reportedly had not eaten for two days.

Possible ties link Wildorado bank robbers to Cisco heist

Chief H L Gaither reports evidence suggesting three of four men in the Cisco bank robbery may be the same trio that killed a night watchman at Wildorado last month and later died or were jailed. Two Suspects Halted After Pistol Littered Flight

Former Texas Doctor Held in Los Angeles Murder Case

Los Angeles police arrested Dr. C. McMillan a former Texas physician for the murder of Amelia Appleby a Chicago apartment house owner. Appleby’s body was found sewn in a sack near the city last Monday. McMillan who had lived with Appleby obtained her power of attorney and traveled east with her last summer. Police say motive was to claim the woman’s property including a Chicago apartment. A penciled will was found.
