Clarence K. Gittings aboard the Los Angeles reports a 31 hour, 1550 mile patrol for Frances Grayson and crew of the Dawn. Despite sightings of trawlers and destroyers the missing airplane remains unfound as the hunt returns to Lakehurst.
Milton Rush, 14, remained alive after four days of artificial respiration in Houston. He was accidentally shot in the back at his Wharton home last Saturday, the bullet lodged in his spine paralyzing his lung muscles. doctors called the condition hopeless.

A Chinese convert, arriving from Swabue, reported to the Catholic bishop that one Chinese and two Italian priests, three Italian nuns, and four Chinese nuns were released. a Chinese priest had been sentenced to death, and a mining building, convent, and orphanage were vandalized and closed.
Evangeline Lindbergh arrived at Fort Brown field in Brownsville at 12 13 p m aboard a large Vord luxury plane en route back to her Detroit school. Earlier in Mexico City the party left Valbuena Field after a Christmas reunion with Col Charles A Lindbergh as their son departed for Guatemala City.

He compared his actions to Loeb and Leopold and spoke of education goals, probation for forgery, and discussions with a Sunday school teacher.

Two men killed in Chicago in what police call a holiday wrap-up of gang warfare. Charles Miller, a beer runner, was shot as he left Bob's Lone Tree Tavern on the northwest side and died without speaking. Shortly after, another man named Dobn Davis was taken to a hospital by companions who fled after dropping him and did not return.
