James I Kendrick pioneer Amarillo business man and undertaker died at 6:45 am after a long illness. He came to Amarillo in 1904 to run and later own the Kenyon Madrey Furniture and Undertaking Company, expanded business to Kendrick Furniture with stores in Childress Memphis Pathart Tucumcari N M and Eric Okla. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce and Elks and was a charter Tex Embalmers member. Survived by wife Maggie Lee Kendrick ten children nine living, plus eleven grandchildren and two brothers. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm from Blackburn-Shaw Chapel with Dr R Thomson officiating.
Billy Hill, 42, a New York and Hollywood songwriter known for Last Roundup, was found dead in a Boston hotel room. Dr. Herman Schwartz attributed the death to natural causes. Hill wrote songs including The Old Spinning Wheel They Cut Down the Old Pine Tree Rain Wagon Wheel Lights Out Old Man of the Mountain and In a Chapel in the Moonlight.
After four years of police searches for 21 year old John J. Sullivan he phoned his mother from Seattle saying he is safe at college and had funded his education by working. Meanwhile Spokane residents use a new Mount Spokane ski lift costing ten cents per ride to ascend via a motor trolley. The lift spans 1400 feet with a 500 foot vertical reach.
Livio DeBonis, a 27 year old dental student at the University of Michigan, works 70 hours a week in Washtenaw county jail as a turnkey while pursuing college. A separate item from San Antonio reports a robbery discovery where a man’s car was vandalized as two front wheels were stolen after the front end dropped off a jack.

Donnie Lee McBride aged 23 days died at 5:30 this morning at St Anthony's Hospital. He was the son of Mr and Mrs E C McBride of 1116 Johnson Street. Survived by brother James Patrick eight. his grandparents Mr and Mrs J Funderburg and Mr and Mrs J P McBride. Funeral at 4 this afternoon in Boxwell Brothers Chapel with Father Reighel officiating. Interment Llano Cemetery.

Mrs. Virginia Duff died this morning around 7 at the home of Mrs. Mary E. Bivins 1000 Polk Street where she had stayed as a guest for weeks. Found dead in sleep, she was a lifelong friend of Mrs. Bivins. Survived by a nephew in Tucumcari New Mexico. Body in state at N M Griggs and Sons Chapel, to be taken to Gainesville for burial.
Kaiser Wilhelm II, aged snow white bearded octogenarian, marked his first Christmas Eve under German occupation in Holland, appearing in good health amid the wartime snow in Doorn Netherlands.
