Burglar Shot Dead Near Amarillo in Wildorado
J F Carney alias Joe Wilson, an ex convict and suspected gang member, was killed by buckshot shots fired by Harry H Elam after he surprised two burglars at the Wildorado Grain and Mercantile Co store 20 miles west of Amarillo. One companion escaped. Campbell, who claimed to be Wilson’s associate, provided police the statement. The body is at Griggs Funeral Home. Wilson had earlier served time in Fort Madison Iowa for a Sioux City burglary.
