Amarillo chapter officers and many members attended a Christmas dinner in the Aronson Tea Room hosted by worthy matron Mrs Lolita Van Shaw and worthy patron Louis Teed. The Polk Street Methodist Co Workers Class met at Mrs. H. C. Prince’s home for a holiday gathering. Members discussed gifts for orphanages and families, prepared clothing and fruit bags, and dressed sixty six dolls for the Social CenterGirls. A teacher received a class gift and a register board was created for the class mother. The meeting featured carols and prayers. The note also mentions mandrake root as a wild US plant with unique active ingredients.
In keeping with Army tradition a Christmas tree and party will be held at the Auditorium U S O from 4 30 to 5 30 Thursday afternoon for the children of men stationed at Amarillo Army Air Field A similar party will be held on Christmas Eve at other Army posts with wives of the soldiers making arrangements.
