Kerbow Named VA Loan Guaranty Officer in Amarillo
Herbert R. Kerbow arrived in Amarillo to join the Veterans Administration as loan guaranty officer. He will work in the VA office on the fifth floor of the Oliver-Fakie Building under VA manager C. E. Todd. Kerbow, reared in Clarendon, previously served as loan guaranty officer in Lubbock and earlier worked in hardware there and as an architect and engineer with the Farm Security Administration in Dallas.

California Couple Tours Europe by Automobile
A Los Angeles couple, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Anderson, toured 11 European countries by car after leaving New York on the Gripsholm. They stopped in Amarillo for gas on a journey they described as smoother by auto than by train due to disrupted services. They had toured South America last year and while amused by the adventure, they doubt repeating the trip.

They encountered cratered roads destroyed bridges and a 35 mile Netherlands stretch flooded to hinder German advances.
