Court action looms as Small seeks rehearing

Springfield December 7 The Illinois supreme court orders Len Small to account for about 1 million dollars in interest allegedly withheld during his tenure as state treasurer. Small plans a rehearing to challenge the finding that he deposited state funds in a fictitious bank at 2 percent and split profits from re loans from 5 to 6 percent. He has until the February term to file. Attorney General Oscar E Carlstrom would not comment. The governor says he paid every dollar received into the state treasury as interest on state funds.
