Roosevelt asks universal draft registration for 18 to 64

Senate military affairs committee received a letter from President Roosevelt requesting draft revision legislation to register all males 18 to 64 and to make ages 19 to 44 subject to service. Marionettes Excited Over Show Tonight at Amarillo College

The California Marionettes led by Don Wilson perform their first out of state tour with Jessy the elephant and a likable group including Pete Hansel and Gretel. They stage funny routines off stage and promise lively acts at Amarillo College Auditorium at 8:00 p.m. Admission is 20 and 35 cents plus tax.

Police Recover Two Stolen Automobiles

Police announce recovery of two cars stolen in Amarillo from out-of-towners Neal Bogard of Hedley and Arthur Letz of Clarendon. Bogard’s car was found at Silverton and Letz’s car was recovered here. Items from the Letz car including oil an overcoat tires and a jack were recovered from a cache on East Tenth Avenue where the car was abandoned.

Mrs George Walker Dies In Amarillo Hospital

Mrs Hattie Lee Walker 53 of 1510 Ong Street died in an Amarillo hospital about 10 this morning. Survivors include husband George H Walker two daughters Mrs Paul G Gaither and Mrs Lester W Hudson Amarillo four grandchildren two sisters Mrs E B Marriott of Denton and Mrs F E M Dutton of Dallas. She had been ill several months and resided in Amarillo 14 years. She was a Christian Church member Services planned Thursday at Forest Grove Texas with Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home handling arrangements.
