Legion Plans School Gift For Amarillo Children
Amarillo schools will receive 25 monthly from the American Legion to aid underprivileged children with Supt. W. A. McIntosh to decide usage. The Hanson Post Christmas program will be curtailed, but the Christmas Tree celebration returns to Municipal Auditorium on Christmas Eve. Over 2,500 candy and nut sacks will be distributed with Legion Auxiliary, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts filling sacks. Legion and Auxiliary members viewed films at the Legion Home, covering parades since 1926 and Palo Duro Canyon. More than 400 members are now registered, up from 110 last year.
