A three million gallon city water tank collapsed in Tucumcari early Thursday, sending waist deep water through four blocks, leveling homes and businesses, killing four and injuring three. City officials estimated damage near half a million dollars while investigators from Denver pursued the unexplained burst of the 200 foot diameter tank.

In Tucumcari New Mexico on December 13 a 3 million gallon water reservoir tank collapsed sending water as high as 50 feet. Mrs Claude Moncus, wife of the Quay County sheriff, described a jetlike roar and a huge red flash. Debris flooded streets for four blocks as water spurting from the tank soaked nearby homes.
Santa Claus arrives as Tucumcari endures a catastrophic water tank collapse that killed four and injured three. Rescue work continues amid gas smell and blacked out lights while 3,000 residents attend the parade. National Guard takes control at the blast site as emergency services respond.

Four more Communist Mig fighters fell today to Maj. George A. Davis Jr. and other Sabrejet pilots in North Korea as U S fliers tallied thirteen MIGs with two more probably downed and one damaged in two aerial battles. Davis now has twelve downed planes in sixteen days. One Sabrejet ran out of fuel, crashed after catching fire, but the pilot was rescued by helicopter. The report notes heavy enemy numbers and the single Sabrejet loss.
Maj. George A. Davis Jr. of Lubbock, leading twelve jets, shoots down four Communist MIGs over North Korea in two skirmishes, bringing his MIG tally to nine and the all-jet victory count to 15. Davis describes bold attacks and tight fuel margins amid the Sinanju River area air battles.
