The Centerfield Oil Company's No 1 Smith well in section 14 block Smith ranch was spudded in Wednesday afternoon with company officers and others present. Coad executive vice president of the St. Petersburg chamber of commerce was said to be in possession but denies knowledge or presence. Reported bond plans outline a 1 090 000 dollar bond for his release if a warrant is served.
New York December 10 The United States Steel Corporation announced orders for November 30 totaling 4 581 780 tons, up 472 597 tons from the previous month, reflecting stronger demand across its operations.

Today a large truck collided with a car owned by F. T. Neer, forcing it through the door of the Kelly-Springfield service building. The crash caused about 1000 dollars in damage to the truck and car. no injuries reported.
Carl Fischer, a top Berlin skat player, was struck by a bag of tomatoes tossed from a third story window after returning from a tournament.
