New Selective Service Bureau Announced in Washington
Washington reports the establishment of a new Selective Service Bureau within the War Manpower Commission. Maj. Gen. Lewis B Hershey will head the bureau under WMC direction, with little change expected to local draft boards. The move aims to coordinate manpower for military needs and civilian production, as President Roosevelt backs seniority protections during the war.
