New York reports Kenneth Lynch a smithy opened an exhibition of armorial armor and weapons to spur interest in medieval jousting. He notes few customers for armor but highlights Cecil B. De Mille as his biggest buyer.
British foreign secretary Sir Samuel Hoare and Anthony Eden urged an oil embargo on Italy at a cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Baldwin. Gen Han Fu-chu, a powerful northern war lord with a 60 000 strong force, rejected autonomy for North China in an exclusive interview with the United Press, declaring no support for the movement and reaffirming loyalty to the National government.
Washington dispatch reports George N. Peek, Roosevelt adviser and export import bank head, expected to resign after clashing with the U S Canada reciprocal treaty. He criticized the agreement negotiated by Cordell Hull and formerly led the Agricultural Adjustment Administration. In a separate dispatch from Denmark South Carolina two armed men robbed the Edisto Cash Depository vault, taking 7000 bonds and 500 cash before fleeing.
Hand writing experts were on call as government witnesses in the Drake estate mail fraud trial of 41 in federal court. They were to bolster the claim that signatures on letters and receipts are authentic. Defense planned to recall A C Achenbach to dispute previous testimony about his bookkeeping.

In Santa Barbara on December 2 16 year old Jesse Livermore Jr. lies gravely ill after a shooting in a drunken quarrel with his mother Mrs Dorothea Wendt Livermore. An oxygen tent aids breathing while doctors warn of possible pneumonia as the youth weakens. The mother remains jailed as her attorney prepares an unloaded gun defense claiming the shooting was accidental.

The forecast calls for fair conditions across Amarillo and surrounding areas with a low around 32 degrees tonight. Tuesday should be fair and slightly warmer with temperature rising slowly in the north and east portions, while southeastern Texas and New Mexico see fair conditions and cooling tonight. Temperature extremes today range from 24 to 41 degrees.
