A holiday theme marks the opening of Palette Studio by Matty Cupit in Room 203 at the Herring Hotel Amarillo. Show runs Dec 5 to 7 from 10 AM to 10 PM featuring hand painted china figurines plates lamps and home decor plus restored frames and mirrors by Mrs. J Larbry of Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Goodnight announce the engagement of their daughter Sylva Nell to Don Worsham of 407 Virginia, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T Worsham. The couple plans to wed after Christmas in Pittsburgh, with a reception at the Goodnight home hosting fifty guests.
Miss Venita Littlejohn and Miss Alene Palmer hosted a party at 104 North McMasters with Donald Neese presiding. Guests included Ronald Johnson Charles Crist Bill Moody George James Joe Johnson and many others.
Avihk Temple No 70 Daughters of the Nile met at Khiva Temple with Queen Robbie Dyer. They plan to entertain Supreme Queen Norma Hoble of Rockford on Dec 3 and 4, hold a luncheon for officers, a practice drill, and a ceremonial at 2:30. Next meeting is Dec 11 with a covered-dish Christmas party. Chapter 7 PEO meets tomorrow at 12:30 in Mrs. Carl P. Matney’s home.
A packed social list shows numerous meetings and gatherings across Amarillo tonight. The Pilot Club hosts at Herring Hotel at 6 30. Other groups include Unity Benefit Association with Mrs Ethel Smith at 7 30 and Cactus Cootlette Club with Mrs Marguerite Hamilton at 8. Civic and service clubs like the Delphian Society, Chrysanthemum Society, PEO chapters, Navy Mothers, Junior Woman's Club, and YWCA groups hold sessions from 9:15 to 8 o'clock with venues including Fannin Harrison Western and the Blackstone Hotel. Several social circles convene for luncheons, art clubs, and civic activities throughout the evening.
Stitch and Chatter Club members will be guests on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o clock in the home of Mrs. S. H. Brasher located at 740 B North Pierce.
