Snow blankets the Panhandle and South Plains with up to nine inches in Slaton and two inches in Lubbock. Snow extends along the Santa Fe line from Abernathy to Sweetwater, averaging five inches in the Pecos division. Snow stopped in Lubbock by midmorning as temperatures hovered near 35. Roads north are dry and forecasts call for continued partly cloudy skies and little temperature change through tonight and Wednesday.

Schuyler B. Marshall Jr. and Herbert Scales, once linked to Dallas County, were released on bonds totaling 30,000 dollars from Ellis County jail.
