Washington reports that authorities plan a base refinery price for gasoline between 5 and 6 cents a gallon as an initial NRA step to stabilize the oil industry. The price link to crude is 18.5 times refinery price, with a 90 day test period under Roosevelt’s code.

President Roosevelt departed Poughkeepsie after noon for a five day cruise on Vincent Astor's yacht Nourmahal. The journey was announced from New York and marks a brief leisure voyage by the president during the late summer period.

Mrs Mabel Bassett said she would seek annulment of Halsell’s marriage to the Taylor girl.
Arthur Brisbane notes a correction regarding Alabama statements about farmers using government payments for fertilizer to boost the smaller cotton crop. Several growers including H. W. Hardy of Sumter SC deny the claim saying the government funds have not been distributed yet. The piece mentions the brain trust has exploded and Professor Moley is leaving.
Jerry Malin Globe News sports editor sues the Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates for 1300 dollars claiming profit from an April exhibition game here would have reached that amount. A Panhandle road program as a relief measure was discussed this morning by a meeting of local and national public roads and relief officials. T. W. Allen of Washington and Cc. E. Swain of Fort Worth are in Amarillo surveying conditions. The meeting continues with J. O. Gulekie W. J. Kelly Senator Clint Small W. J. Van London and County Judge J. M. Simpson among those present.
The bodies of pilots Howard Morgan and G. W. Barcus killed in an early Tuesday plane crash near Tucumcari New Mexico were sent to Kansas City Missouri for funeral and burial services. Salvage crews removed wreckage from the crash site on Thursday per TWA officials.

San Jose August 31. The prosecution outlines motives involving another woman and a love triangle as it contends Stanford intellectual David A. Lamson killed his wife Allene. Witnesses say Lamson visited Sacramento to see Sarah Kelley, a blonde divorcee and former Stanford co ed, and discussed an unhappy domestic life with Frank J. Taylor.
Miss Katherine Prince, 21, abducted from a Dallas area car by two youths, while Mace Carver, 27, was shot and injured. Prince’s body was later found in a cotton field southeast of Dallas as investigators suspect she was slain. The attackers, described as under 30, were jailed by local authorities amid growing anger in Mesquite.
Tickets go on sale Friday morning at City Drug 517 Polk Street for the Heads Up Labor Day revue at Municipal Auditorium. The show features Ligon Smith and his band Jimmie Jefferies and other radio performers and will run matinee and night. Reserved seats cost 25 to 40 cents matinee and 25 cents to 1 dollar night with an elaborate intermission show. Smith and his band also play two Labor Day dances at The Nat.
Albert Bates arrived by plane from Denver to Oklahoma City and was greeted by Charles Urschel who identified him as one of the two men who kidnapped Urschel at his home on July 22. Federal agents surrounded the scene as Bates and seven Minneapolis suspects faced arraignment on kidnapping charges.
