Proposed Ordinance Is Tabled
Property owners on West Fifteenth Avenue blocked a bid to require 15 foot setbacks from the street to allow for possible future widening. The measure was tabled after a petition against it and objections citing loss of property use. The panel found current right of way adequate for three traffic lanes plus parking. The commission also awarded a golf clubhouse locker room addition contract to Claude E. Mathis and deferred school board plans to close West Fourteenth Avenue for Amarillo High School arterial training.
