The consul at Guadalajara quoted a telegram from the mines dated yesterday stating no troops had arrived.

Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and North Carolina report increased infestation levels with varying regional severity. The report triggers sharp swings in cotton futures, dropping then rebounding on the same day.
The Texas Historical pageant is postponed to Wednesday September 14 as part of the Amarillo Tri-State exposition. The event originally slated for September 2 at Texan Park now combines with Ernie Young's revue, with 1200 plus participants and two National Guard units in a faux war scene. Tickets cost 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for children. parking around the race track will accommodate thousands.

A jail inmate Hyden, held for Borger officers, tried to saw through city jail bars last night. He removed one bar and worked on a second with a wet blanket muffling noise and cooling the saw. He aimed to escape into the negro cell and would have needed two small bars. Police suspect he secured the saws and turned him over to Borger officials this morning in connection with robberies including box car theft.
An earthquake occurred in the Vancouver area accompanied by a plainly audible rumble. Tremors affected houses and other buildings in the greater Vancouver region, but no damage was reported.
Beverly Hills home of actress Clara Bow was placed under guard after a series of sinister incidents in seven days. A loitering youth from Brooklyn, claiming film work trouble, was fed and housed by Bow.
