Eagle Scout Award Presented at Parish Court of Honor

Edward Nobles of Troop 12 received the Eagle Scout rank at the parish house ceremony. Wayne Medlin of Troop 5 was slated to be honored but was away and will receive it at the September Court. Other ranks awarded included Carl Applequist and Charlies Taylor as First Class, Gene Hull as Second Class, Bill Brainerd and Richard Hogan as Star Scouts, Frank Stalnaker with Eagle and Gold Palm, and Explorer Troop 6’s Williaa F. Tanner receiving the 10-year veteran’s award with merit badges to a list of scouts.

Harriman To Moscow Heads American Russia Aid Delegation

President Roosevelt announced W. Averell Harriman will lead an American delegation to Moscow to study aid to Russia. John Biggers will take over Harriman's duties in London, linking British and American production efforts. A separate air force tour led by Major General George H. Brett will visit North Africa the Near East and Europe to assess British aviation needs.

Mr and Mrs Myrick Injured in Santa Fe Crash

Mr and Mrs Red Myrick formerly of Amarillo were seriously injured in an automobile accident near Santa Fe New Mexico several days ago. Mr Myrick has been released from hospital while Mrs Myrick remains at St Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe. Mrs Myrick is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Sam Lewis of 831 Carolina Street. V Electrical power capable of serving a city of 5250 homes is available through the plant supporting a Texas airplane facility.

Voters League Meets Sunday in 47th District Court

The Texas Voters' League, an organization advocating increased old age assistance, will hold a meeting Sunday at 3 PM in the 47th District courtroom.

Pilot Club approves defense stamps and bonds plan

The local Pilot Club International votes to buy defense stamps and bonds at 10 percent. The group also polls members on fitness for defense work. All clubs in the organization adopt the same program.
