Amarillo College will hold adult night school registration from 7 to 9 pm on September 7, with Dr. Ernest C. Shearer noting most classes run one night weekly for three hours. Adults may enroll by approval without high school graduation, and credits earned can transfer to other colleges or universities.
Gaylord R. Shores 29, a Bataan death march survivor, lay in critical condition after a gunshot wound suffered during a playful scuffle with wife Winifred Shores 21 in Kansas City. He and his wife, on leave from Winter General Hospital, were joking over a revolver she believed unloaded. Shores, a six year Army veteran, had been liberated from Bilibid Prison and returned to the United States in March.

Early morning fire at 310 North Monroe destroyed a residence. The alarm came in at 3 32 with firefighters arriving about an hour later. A fireman stated the lot was saved.
J A Hazlewood Jr. names Densel Dean Amarillo Rotary Club secretary to head the 1945 46 Community Chest drive. Dean, a former San Antonio official, notes Americans must aid conquered nations while safeguarding families of those in the armed forces and strengthening home front democracy.
Gov. Coke R. Stevenson grants extradition to Oklahoma for Ernest Entland 15 and Oma Dixon Claunch 14 both of Austin. They are charged with murder in Atoka County Oklahoma in the death of McCraw Streckenfinger 20 of Pittsburg Kansas. Atoka County officials depart for Oklahoma with the youths.
Mrs. W. D. DeGrassi Jr. of 1503 Jefferson has returned from Boulder Colorado with her daughter Betty Jane. Miss De Grassi enrolled last week at the University of Colorado as a freshman.
