The Nassau Diocesan Synod met this month and received a single nomination for Bishop of Nassau. The candidate is an American-born clergyman, previously serving in the American Congregation of St John the Evangelist, later Suffragan Bishop of Haiti. He was born October 4 1881 in Cincinnati and educated at Harvard and General Theological Seminary.
Two boys aged 11 and 14 were injured during a BB gun war game in Austin. The Texan shot the Jap in the leg and the Jap fired near the eye. both were treated and reported in good condition.
Dr Thomas L Lucas of Washington warns in the Journal of the American Medical Association that the Megalopyge operculis larva known as the puss bug is poisonous to humans. Also called Italian Asp possum bug or Perrito it is common in southeastern states and may spread. It feeds on various plants and poses danger from June through September.
