Funeral services for James Mc Fain Mack Sanford, Panhandle cattleman and oilman, will be held at Polk Street Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Saturday. The body lies in state until 1 p.m. at Griggs Chapel and from 1 to 3 p.m. at the home. Burial will be in Liano cemetery. Sanford, 69, who died at his home 2118 Van Buren Street, was a prominent Panhandle figure who arrived in 1882 and helped shape ranching and oil development in Texas and New Mexico. Survivors include his widow Garland Whiteside Sanford and several relatives.
