Will Chamberlain, 44, was acquitted in Clarendon of murder in the July 18 death of neighbor John Naylor, 43. He admitted killing Naylor but claimed self defense. the state alleged premeditation. Naylor died from two shotgun wounds as the jury deliberated about two hours.
Miss Madelyne Ingerton a Potter County rural teacher helps staff from the county school superintendent office during the latter part of August.
The Potter County District Court orders Lou A Roll and heirs to appear in September 1945 to answer a petition by Amarillo Independent School District The State of Texas and the City of Amarillo over delinquent taxes on Lot Seven, Block Fifty four Glenwood Addition, owed since 1935 1944 totaling 6 84 plus interest penalties and costs. Also includes a Christian Science notice about an August 26 sermon and Bible passages.
Mrs J C Finley of 801 Fairmont has been ill at home for several days. She is employed by the Lucille Shop.
J. W. Norwood of 406 B Madison returned home yesterday following a two week visit with relatives in Idabel Oklahoma, settling back into daily life.
Miss Sue Kuykendall, daughter of Mr and Mrs J M Kuykendall of 1116 Florida, will leave Sept 2 to enroll at Southern Methodist University where she will be a senior. She has returned home from the University of New Mexico.
