Pfc. Sam L. Bowen pursues drawing and painting of Marine life as a long standing hobby. A 1944 Amarillo High School graduate, he won Tri-State Fair prizes and served as a radio operator with the Third Marine Division on Iwo Jima. His mother, Mrs. Edna Bowen, says he may be stationed in Guam.

Simpson Expected Saturday In Amarillo Arrival
Lt Col FE Selden Simpson a veteran of the 142nd Infantry 36th Division is due to arrive Saturday in Amarillo. His parents Col and Mrs E A Simpson 2602 Hughes were notified by telegram while returning from Chihuahua that he is en route. Simpson left for overseas duty two years ago in April and fought in Italy and France before Cannes celebration then Paris prior to Atlantic crossing.
