Second Driver in Grash Dies In Texas Truck Crash
Richard Ewing Alexander aged 16 of Lorenzo Crosby County died at Northwest Texas Hospital after a truck collision near Dumas. Co-driver Richard Lee Caldwell of Amarillo died at the scene. Alexander had been burned in a fire following the wreck on the Dumas Sunray Highway 5 miles northeast of Dumas. Funeral arrangements for Caldwell are set at Boxwell Brothers chapel with burial at Llano Cemetery. Alexander’s body was returned to Ralls for burial.

Friona pilot dies in crash during training flight
Wayne Manderschied 23, of Friona, was killed when a light plane stalled and crashed near Black between Hereford and Friona during a training flight. His brother Doyle, 21, suffered a broken jaw and head injuries. both were aboard the aircraft owned by Elza Jennings.
