Rear Admiral Niblack Dies in Nice at 70
Rear Admiral Albert P. Niblack, 70, died in Nice after a week of critical illness. A veteran of the U S Navy, he directed the Monaco based international hydrographic bureau and served as naval attaché in Berlin, Rome, and Vienna. He fought in the Spanish American War and took part in the battle of Nipe Bay. He commanded ships and in 1914 sat on the general navy board. He led Squadron 2 at Gibraltar in 1927 and headed the U S naval forces in the Western Mediterranean until after the armistice.
