Three Boys Admit Burglary Spree at Legion Hall

More than a hundred members of the West Texas Lost Battalion of World War II arrived for the sixth reunion. Activities include registration, programs at the American Legion Home, memorial services at Memorial Park, a 9 pm dance, and upcoming business meetings, dinners, and dances. Maj. J. B. Heinen of Dallas leads the Lost Battalion Association with officers from Amarillo and Hereford. Early arrivals came from Chicago, Oregon, California, and various Texas locales.

Robinson Hurt in Collision at Highway 66 Intersection
James Andrew Robinson of Amarillo Air Terminal was seriously injured in a collision at the Highway 66 and Pullman Switch Road intersection. Four others suffered minor injuries. Robinson has a crushed windpipe and collapsed lung, condition listed as fair. Victims from the other car were treated and released. The crash occurred about 7:20 a.m. Robinson was northbound on Pullman Switch Road and failed to yield at the stop sign when his car was hit by Charles Young of Coachella, California traveling west on Highway 66 at about 40 mph.
