Washington August 10 All records for volume of construction in the United States were shattered in July according to statistics by the Associated General Contractors of America. The index rose from 120 in March to 220, the greatest four month rise on record. Total construction in July exceeded June by 4 percent, and for the first seven months of 1926 the volume was 4 percent higher than the same period last year. The surge began in May after lagging earlier in the year.
