SAN FRANCISCO August 6 The Golden Gate bridge recorded its 101st death by own action. A young man in sports clothes leaped from the center of the span yesterday. Several painters on the suspension cable watched his body hit the water and surface again, carried by the tide toward Alcatraz Island.

Fort Worth man Carl E. Williams 43 was released without bond after two witnesses failed to identify him in the rifle death of O T McDaniel.
