Amarillo launches Clean-Up Week with city entities civic clubs and organizations joining to swap rubbish for paint and shrubs. City trucks will haul waste on select days to be announced. A 5 PM meeting in S F Rose’s office in the Oliver Eakle Building will finalize plans and urge committeemen to attend. Lubbock has led Texas in cleanliness. Amarillo hopes to improve standings.

John Arnot Injured by Cow Kick at Stockyards
Brand inspector John Arnot suffered a badly bruised left leg after a cow kicked him in the pens at new stockyards. He remained on his feet briefly, then fainted, and was carried home after two more fainting spells. The attending physician advised rest for a day or two.

No Fishing in City Lake Delayed by Low Water
City manager H. R. Smith said the lake twenty miles southwest will not open to fishing until water levels rise from about six feet, far below the usual thirty two feet at the dam. If it continues to fall, larger fish may need to be removed by seining.

Hundred Houses Destroyed In Bordelonville Tornado
A tornado swept Bordelonville Louisiana destroying about one hundred houses and killing a Black resident.
