Presbyterian Church Considers One Ground for Divorce
The 69th general assembly in Montreat New York next May 16 will hear a report from the committee on divorce proposing that only violation of the Seventh Commandment constitute grounds. Current grounds desertion and infidelity would be reduced to one. The report notes hasty marriages and urges family life training and pastors to teach marriage and refrain from remarriage of remarried parties without divine sanction.
