Firefighter quits amid women fear. rooming house burned
In Waco on April 29 J T Boleman, 74, an old bachelor, abandoned firefighting during a blaze at the Thompson Dillars rooming house when he said women nearby made him nervous. The 12 room two story frame structure, built about 38 years ago, was a total loss.

In New York on April 29 AP a reporter took eight year old Dion Rummage to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus after a reader's complaint. John O'Reilly of the New York Herald Tribune had published a photo of marching elephants with a boy present. The boy says he paraded from East Eighty fourth Street to Madison Square Garden and was punished. O'Reilly then persuaded Dion's parents to lift the punishment and took him to the circus.

Bride, 14, Killed by Husband Then Shot Himself
Houston report says Henry Floyd Tims, 22, shot and killed his 14 year old bride Frances Carroll Tims and then killed himself after a tense marital dispute at a cafe.
