D B Robertson president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen says there will be no wage reductions by railroad employees. He calls the proposed cuts an effort to embarrass the President and notes railroad wage bills have fallen by 40 million dollars a month since October. He urges bondholders to take losses, claiming the system can recover.
A classifieds note urges readers planning to buy a home this spring to browse Wand Ad pages for attractively priced houses. It claims prices are near their lowest point and inflation will push rents higher, urging early purchase as a hedge.

Charles Calvin McClure three year old son of Mr and Mrs J B McClure of Borger died in a local hospital this morning after four days of treatment. Griggs Funeral Home holds the body pending arrangements. Survived by parents two sisters Ima Jean and Mary McClure and brother J B McClure Jr.
Glen Cove New York April 29 J P Morgan the 70 year old financier made his first flight Thursday a short hop from his estate across Long Island Sound to New Haven Connecticut about 45 air miles. With his son Junius the elder Morgan boarded an amphibian at 4 PM and flew to the New Haven airport. He returned by the same plane just before midnight accompanied by his son.
Securities commissioner John W. Hanes urged a national balance sheet for industry to align production with demand. The plan is under study by 16 bankers and executives aiding closer govt business coordination. Other developments include a possible business inner council for Roosevelt, publicity for future anti trust actions, and moves to place the PWA under Jesse Jones rather than Ickes.
Sen Edward R Burke of Nebraska defended the press against Indiana Sen Sherman Minton's charge that it seeks to throttle free speech. Burke said attackers want to limit expression of those who differ and that the majority oppose such attacks, asserting an untrammeled press is essential to the nation's course.
Potter County superintendent Carl Clifft is re appointed chairman of the Citizens Military Training Camp program. The county quota is 14 for this summer with potential expansion. Applicants aged 17 to 24 may apply by June 1. Potter MTC boys will attend camp at Fort Sill Oklahoma. The camp runs July 5 to August 3.

In Longview on a rural highway a crocodile advanced on an unidentified young boy. Jack Rice of Kilgore improvised a trap with a cable and pole and held the reptile until the child was freed. Rice while living in the Philippines knew how to handle crocodiles. The age and origin of the monster remain unknown.
Congressional leaders disclosed the war department plans to use part of Roosevelt's pump priming fund to build giant army air bases for Alaska and U S coasts. May of Kentucky said he will seek 120 million for new and existing air bases with Alaska base near Fairbanks and capacity for 100 to 1000 planes.
