In Dallas jail Raymond Hamilton 20 year old bank bandit and Clyde Barrow ally was captured near Sherman after robbing the First National Bank of Lewisville. Van Zandt Sheriff Killed in Highway Crash

Iva Burnett, 45, sheriff of Van Zandt County, died when his car collided with an oil truck nine miles east of Terrell. Driver W D Ashmore of Dallas says Burnett’s car side swiped the truck and Burnett was thrown clear. The oil truck caught fire. Burnett was dead on arrival. He was serving his third term and had previously been a deputy. His body was taken to Canton for funeral arrangements.

Kidnapping Case Nets Wide Search Across Arizona

In Tucson on April 26, six year old June Robles was abducted after leaving school. A note demanding 15000 dollars was delivered to her father Fernando Robles by a boy two hours later. Ranchers and cowboys joined the search, aided by the American Legion. police captured three suspects linked to the ransom note.
