Ford of Canada plants halted as UAW CIO clash shuts Windsor

In Windsor Ontario production at Ford Motor Company plants No 1 2 and 4 stopped after a sit down strike and lockout dispute with the United Automobile Workers CIO. Faces Death For Slaying Pretty Bride

Robert E. Lee Folkes, 20, a negro cook, was found guilty in the first degree of murdering Mrs Martha Virginia James, 21, aboard a California bound train. The jury rejected mercy and under Oregon law he faces the death penalty in the gas chamber. Folkes had allegedly confessed to police in Los Angeles.
