Amarillo Man Joe Butcher Found Dead at Home

Joe A. Butcher 61 a licensed electrician and Amarillo resident of seven years was found dead by his wife Iste at their home 2410 Buchanan Street after returning from a lodge meeting. Authorities say death likely a heart attack occurring about 8 55 p m. He went to the garage to let his wife drive in and collapsed near the front entrance. Surviving are his widow a daughter Mrs Henry Hirod of Long Beach California a son Donald Hirod of Long Beach three brothers and a sister and a granddaughter Barbara Ann Hirod. He was a Baptist employed by Triangle Electric. The body is at Boxwell Brothers Chapel.

D L McDonald told a Amarillo Chamber of Commerce regional meeting that the Panhandle has ample water for industrial use. He cited Phillips Petroleum wells in Hutchinson County producing or able to produce 8 million gallons daily and noted abundant water from Amarillo wells and railroad supply. He urged a comprehensive water survey for submission to Washington to prove ample regional water resources.

Funeral set for Amarillo salesman Edgar Kennedy

Funeral services for Edgar T. Kennedy, a 34 year Amarillo resident and candy salesman, will be held at 10 a.m. from Boxwell Brothers Chapel with Dr Earl G. Hamlett officiating. Kennedy died yesterday in a car crash at the junction of Highways 66 and 60. He leaves wife, daughter Evelyn Kennedy Myera of Amarillo, son Ted Kennedy of Portland, Ore, and siblings in Arkansas and Washington, D. C. Burial will be in Liano Cemetery.
