Star Expands Prodigiously In Spectacular Galactic Event
Mt Wilson Calif April 22 A giant bombshell of the skies a freak star expanding nearly 8900 miles or Earth's diameter each second was described by two Carnegie Observatory astronomers. The star a rare super nova was discovered by Dr Edwin Hubble and Glenn Moore after seven years of watching for the event. They measured the stellar phenomenon reaching thirty six million trillion miles distant using a spectroscope as it brightened 60 million times the sun and faded. The gas shell expanded at 13000000 miles an hour and would engulf the earth if the sun exploded in the same way within seven hours.
