Vermillion bank hold up case set for May 3 in Amarillo

Trial of F W Vermillion accused of robbing Claude’s First National Bank on November 21 is slated for Monday May 3 in Amarillo with a 100 man jury pool. Judge Henry Bishop ordered the venue and Vermillion remains jailed in Potter County. Vermillion claims alibi as witnesses prep to testify.

Fire gutting Lubbock hospital annex injures staff

Three nurses and a man, employees of Elwood hospital, barely escaped by sliding down a garden hose from the annex second floor as flames, believed incendiary, destroyed the annex. Firefighters used water from a nearby lily pond to hold the blaze. the main hospital remained undamaged.
