England Faces Resentment Over Alliance with Italy and France
England's siding with Italy and France sparks bitter resentment at home as critics argue the alignment risks national interests. Debates focus on diplomacy, security commitments, and potential shifts in power among European nations.
Still Another Governor
Berlin reports a British embassy spokesman described a note from Hitler as a sizzler to Sir Eric Phipps. The note, relayed via Konstantin Von Neurath, argued that Britain’s action with the League ends any talk of Germany rejoining. Hitler resents Britain siding with France and Italy and weighs options from skipping peace pacts to withdrawing from the air defense pact or leaving the League. The Reichswehr worries about anti German alliances and may push Hitler to keep negotiations alive.
