The Supreme Court adjourned for two weeks without ruling on the constitutionality of the Railway Pension Law or the Frazier Lemke farm moratorium act. A final decision on the National Industrial Recovery Act is expected before term ends in late May or early June. Arguments set for May 2.
Acting Governor Walter F. Woodul signed a bill ratifying an interstate compact for oil and gas production control. Oklahoma New Mexico and Kansas had ratified. the measure waited California Assembly action and would take effect when any three of Texas Oklahoma California Kansas New Mexico ratified and Congress consented.
In Baton Rouge a coup by Huey P. Long to crush foes was expected at a special legislature session. The move aims to create a state board to supervise public works funded by the federal $4.88 billion relief appropriation, amid fears opponents could shatter Long’s political machine.
Marriner S. Eccles told a Senate Banking subcommittee investigating his fitness to be governor of the Federal Reserve Board that he has disposed of all his bank stock holdings in compliance with the Reserve Act.
Five state representatives on a special investigating committee traveled to An gleton Texas to examine claims of brutal prison treatment. Convicts allegedly maimed themselves to escape field supervision, while officials said injuries came from convicts chopping off fingers and toes to flee work. Prior investigations had been conducted by prison officials and State Rangers under Gov Allred.
Raymond Stallings 17 of Canyon T S Stevenson 18 of Canyon and Bill Stice 18 of Canyon are under arrest for burglaries in Deaf Smith and Hale Counties. Stallings is jailed in Plainview while Stevenson and Stice are in Hereford. Charges include burglary with possible additional counts.
The Southwestern Public Service Company announces a broad rural electrification program for the Pan handle. President C. S. Makeig says power will reach farmers along the company’s transmission lines with liberal terms. The plan sets up to 300 dollars per rural customer for light service and up to 500 dollars for full electric usage and farm power.
Geneva police disclosed a planned assassination attempt against French foreign minister Pierre Laval, Czechoslovak foreign minister Eduard Benes, and Romanian foreign minister Nicholae Titulescu. Three suspected anarchists, two Italians and a woman, were detained in Marseille amid alarms along Swiss and Alpine borders.
In Geneva Pierre Laval wins support from Czechoslovakia Romania and Yugoslavia for expanding Austria Hungary and Bulgaria armies. The Little Entente tentatively agrees to more than double Austrian 30 000 and Hungarian 35 000 troops as part of the Stresa program. Italy and Abyssinia to arbitrate frontier dispute to avoid warlike mobilizations.
The Scandinavian countries moved to ease tensions with Germany as diplomatic talks opened in Geneva. Officials reported cautious progress while Allies watched closely for signs of a broader settlement.
Byron Bolton of Chicago pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of kidnapping Edward G. Bremer, a St. Paul banker, as twelve defendants appeared before Judge M. M. Joyce. Bolton stated he desired to plead guilty, with three others charged in the January 17, 1933, Bremer seizure.
L M Foley 40 shoots and kills his two children Betty Lou six and Billy ten. He seriously wounds his wife Marie Foley seven times and then shoots himself dead. The incident occurred in Omaha Nebraska on April 15. Foley, unemployed, had recently suffered a nervous breakdown.
Ray Minter assistant manager of the Amarillo Paper Company returned from a week end business trip in Oklahoma City. The note mentions Guaranteed Oil at 10 cents per quart and a location on 1900 West Third Street.

Senators discuss a $10 million biennial school aid measure to equalize educational funding and expand vocational and rehabilitation programs across the state.
Woodward Oklahoma April 15 murder charges accuse Russell Boley 18 of shooting his parents at their farm home southeast of Woodward on February 5 then setting the dwelling on fire after pouring gasoline on the bodies. Boley admitted the slaying in a signed statement to state crime bureau and county officials. Police say motive was to marry a girl objected to by the parents. Doyle 88 Dallas capitalist dies in Ireland Coryell County. George L. Doyle former Dallas figure died last Wednesday in Ireland aged 88.
Fair and slightly cold tonight in Amarillo with possible light frost in exposed areas. Tuesday brings partly cloudy skies and warmer conditions with a low around 40. West Texas and New Mexico show fair to warm trends with frost in northern areas and warmer conditions thereafter. Temperature extremes today reach 40 to 55 degrees.
Amarillo meteorologist H. T. Collman said today's quiet was temporary and that blowing sand would resume tomorrow from the southwest, though not with the velocity or density of recent storms. He described last night’s daylight dust storm as spectacular yet noted March 27’s event was worse.
Edgar Stone, 10, slept in tumbleweeds during a spring dust storm near Fritch after wandering from Navajo Gasoline plant. He returned home unharmed as his mother urged a search from Borger. Nearby photographer Murry Watts and rancher Albert Bivins chased dust drifts north of Amarillo and spent a night at a ranch hotel after drifting into a blinding black cloud.
Jurors in the Hamlin murder trial stayed behind barred doors at the Potter County courthouse this morning with no vote tally available. George S. Hamlin, on trial for the January 4 kitchen slaying at 901 Virginia Street, faced possible death by electric chair and was reported hopelessly deadlocked after yesterday’s session.
Police study movements of Sinclair Refining Co. tank cars to locate the body of Mrs. Isabel Couch 24. The woman's son, D A Couch Jr 5, told detectives that his father killed her and threw her in a hole. He identified tank cars like the one used.
Wiley Post, on his third attempt to span the continent in record time by way of the stratosphere, faced a setback when his supercharger quit. The Winnie Mae landed at Purdue University airport at 3 40 P M after eight hours 121 minutes aloft from Burbank California, while refitting was considered.
The Panhandle District Medical Society annual meeting begins at 9 a m tomorrow in the Herring Hotel and continues through Wednesday. A full report appears on page 11.
