Experts provide precise glass shapes reducing rattles and leaks. The firm also offers a range of mirrors in various sizes for homes and shops easing a long glass shortage.
Pat Whittington owner of Bull Tire Company Amarillo and McAllen adds the Insect O Lite line to the store. The unit comes as a shade or a portable complete bulb unit using DDT crystals that volatilize with heat and kill insects in the room.
Zack McCrady Plumbing Company at 604 North Fillmore in Amarillo announces a large shipment of plumbing fixtures this week including baths lavatories and heaters. The firm previously retired and reopened last month posting the slogan A Good Job at a Fair Price and offering repair work as well as contracting and retail stock with daily additions.
Grady Nutt owner of Grady's Cleaners markets the San Jacinto Youth Center by selling tickets to the Amarillo Gold Sox opener on April 29. Tickets cost one dollar with all proceeds benefiting the youth center deliveries offered to any address on request by calling 4397.
Governor Beaufort H Jester will accept the Southern Traffic Safety award for Texas at the Texas Safety Conference in Fort Worth on May 2. Dallas president A F Allen announced the honor for Texas traffic records in 1946 as a leading southern state. The People’s Recreation Club in the Amarillo Building basement features 14 billiards and snooker tables plus domino tables. A lunch counter serves sandwiches and drinks, with a confectionery department stocked with tobacco and candy. Tables and cues are well maintained, and the building is steam heated in winter and air conditioned in summer.

Representative Philbin of Massachusetts says the Soviet iron curtain in Europe hampers recovery of American war dead. A War Department estimate places about 4,000 American bodies in areas of Europe under Soviet control, with Army search teams attempting to locate and identify them. Officials declined to comment.
The tenth annual Texas Bluebonnet Photo Fiesta will be held in Marlin April 19 and 20. Camera fans participate in two days of photographing Bluebonnets and models.
