Pensacola Florida April 9 A P News story reports railroad detectives charging Mrs L W Vann with hiring two men to sabotage a train her 70 year old husband was engineering hoping to kill him for his life policy and a new marriage. The two men Langston and Finley 16 confessed they were paid $50 and promised $500 more to pull spikes from inner rails on a curve but the outer rail failed to be loosened and the plan failed. Sheriff H E Gandy said Vann and Earl Travis of Castleberry Alabama were also charged based on railroad officials evidence. The plot came to light after Vanns report to superiors of a sudden rail give way during the two attempted saboteurs.
