A DeKalb County WPA night watchman attempted suicide by inhaling exhaust fumes after a lack of money left him unable to buy gasoline. The Sam Houston Junior High School Band directed by 8. M. Bagwell offers a free Sunday concert at 3 PM in the Municipal Auditorium. The event honors Amarillo citizens for support of tag day to fund travel to the state band contest in Vernon April 21 22 23. The band earned top ratings last year at Pampa and tied Shamrock for highest Class B marks. Public invited.
Governor James V. Allred received 100 contributions to the Frome reward fund bringing the total to 1,800. Donations came from W. F. Scarborough of Midland and B. A. Clousnitzer of New Braunfels. A Chicago postcard questioned Texas Rangers over recent killings and bypassed highway safety.

Wiley Todd Jr 36 died this morning at the home of his sister Mrs Arley Snow 803 Prospect Street. Funeral plans undecided but may be in Portales New Mexico via Griggs Funeral Home. He had lived in Amarillo two months after moving from Portales. Survivors include sisters Mrs L W Johnson and Mrs J R Short of Portales and Mrs L F Shaefer of Elida New Mexico and brother R H Todd of Slaton Texas.
O E Sage petitions for another new trial in a negligent homicide case tied to the March 1937 traffic death of Mrs May Southworth. A county court jury first fined $100 plus costs, a second jury later fined $300 plus costs.
Funeral services were set in Griggs Funeral Chapel at 4 this afternoon for John Clyde Teter infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Teter of 210 North Tyler Street who died at home yesterday. Rev. E. R. Foster will officiate. Burial is in Llano Cemetery. Survivors include two brothers Jack and James and two sisters Betty and Anna Mae.
