Henry B. Bedford a 43 year old school principal admitted to authorities he strangled Mrs Mat tie Bengert 28 and her son Carl 8 and placed the baby in a gas oven then tried to take his own life by gas. He said he went mad and stated he loved the woman but she would not live with him. Bedford had been principal of the Grand Rapids Public School for three years and previously worked in Ohio and Illinois. He is divorced with two children living in Tennessee.

He notes the exact terrestrial effect is unpredictable despite past forecasting successes.
Seven cities will be represented in the annual Latin Tournament in Amarillo this Saturday. Sixty four students will compete, drawn from 17 high schools including Lubbock senior and junior high, Canyon, Pampa, Borger, White Deer, and Floy.
In Waco on April 7 Adolph Cocek, 22, of Went, Texas, died when his car left the road while returning home from Waco. Passenger Willie Barton, 20, was critically injured and near death in a local hospital.
