Hugo Loewenstern, agent, said the deal was in process of consummation. lessee plans a confectionery and candy shop.
Former Gov Miriam A Ferguson appears set to run again with husband James A Ferguson stating the outlook is favorable. An official announcement is expected by next week as filing remains open until June 3.
Two year old Phyllis Ann Parks tumbled from a second story screen at a home in Shreveport. Her mother Mrs Inez Parks collapsed after the fall. Doctors reported the child landed on her head but suffered only two minor bruises.
The British steamer King Edward sent an urgent aid call to the Coast Guard cutter Spencer. Spencer headed toward the King Edward, believed to be about 550 miles northwest of Cape Flores in the Azores.
A Dallas man asking the City Judge Joe Hill about whipping his wife leads to a grim exchange. The judge explains fines for simple affray and harsher penalties for aggravated assault, joking that a plain stick whip might be best as the man agrees.

Amarillo youth Henry Guinn faced charges after a three car collision on North East Eighth Avenue killed an educated mule shown in the city. The mule was insured for 5000 dollars. Guinn was charged with drunken driving and unlawful use of a vehicle. bond was set at 1000 dollars. A 15 year old, Edward Gamblin, was injured. State police said the car belonged to Harley Swint and had been taken from its parking place.
President Roosevelt said a one year limit on extending the reciprocal trade treaty act would be very harmful. He spoke after reports that Vice President Garner supported a one year amendment. The measure to extend the program for three years from June 12 nears final Senate action after House approval.
