Mrs Victoria Parker Dies At 85 In Amarillo
Victoria Parker a resident of Amarillo for two years died at 8 this morning in Northwest Texas Hospital at age 85. Survived by daughter Mrs G W Herron step daughter Mrs W K Everhart son C C Parker eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements pending under Blackburn Shdw.

Amarillo Ends 16 Day Building Shutdown After Settlement
More than 1,500 construction workers returned to Amarillo projects as a 16 day shutdown ended following a settlement announced by Albert Randall. The four groups involved the Associated General Contractors Panhandle Home Builders Association Building Trades Council and Construction General Labor Local 688 resolved issues over closed shop and common labor recognition. Wages were not in dispute and both sides described the agreements as satisfactory.

Legion Approves Truman Doctrine Policy Vote
Hanson Post American Legion members approved the Truman Doctrine to aid Greece and Turkey after a discussion led by Wes Izzard and F. H. Mc Gregor. The meeting at Municipal Auditorium elected 52 delegates for the 16th District Convention in Chil dress April 12-13. G. W. Allbrooks reported 36 veteran deaths in Amarillo since Sept. 1 last year.
