Youth Crushed to Death When Hit by Train
Special to The News. E M Jones age 19 of Coleman Texas was crushed beneath a Santa Fe locomotive on the Id en siding in Clovis at 9:20 Wednesday morning after the engineer whistled for several hundred yards and found the boy asleep on the track. Jones had been riding a west bound freight that took the siding to allow a fast east bound fruit train to pass. Trainmen believe he crawled from a car and slept on the main line as the fruit train neared. The head was crushed and the left foot severed. The body was taken to Vaughn and prepared for shipment to his parents in Coleman. Relatives will meet the body east of here.
