Texas Board of Control to Issue Six Million in Bonds
Gov Miriam Ferguson signed a bill authorizing six million dollars in state bonds to aid relief for needy citizens. The Board of Control began immediate conferences to implement the program and requested a two million dollar federal advance for October relief needs. He planned to visit his wife at Casa Grande with the Morgans, friends of the family, and showed improvement. New Highway 24 Set to Open Thursday Afternoon
Ralls reports the newly paved Highway 24 will open at 2:30 PM Thursday with many spectators from cities along the route. The road now runs paved from Lubbock to Dickens, leaving only a few miles between Lubbock and the Fort Worth Dallas area still unpaved, as Fort Worth delegates attend the ceremony.
